Before You Contact Support — First Aid

Before submitting a support request, please take a few minutes to search this FAQ page — the majority of common questions are already answered here and you’ll get a faster resolution. Also read the product description on the download page, which often includes specific activation instructions.

If you still can’t find what you need, the Support option is available in the site header. We aim to respond within 24 hours on business days.

Note: Installation notes and activation instructions on product pages are only visible to members — individual item purchasers may not see them. Log in first.

Download managers (Free Download Manager, Internet Download Manager, browser download extensions, etc.) open multiple simultaneous connections per file. This triggers our Fair Use policy very quickly and may result in your account being flagged or suspended. Please uninstall or disable any download manager before downloading from our site. Use your browser’s native download function only.

The file you download is often a master package containing multiple items: the installable theme zip, a child theme zip, demo content, documentation, and sometimes additional plugins. You need to extract this package first (we recommend WinRAR or 7-Zip) and then locate the correct installable theme zip before uploading it to WordPress.

Common mistake: Trying to install the outer package directly. Always extract first, then find the real theme or plugin zip inside.

This error means you uploaded the outer package instead of the installable theme zip. Extract the downloaded file, find the inner theme zip (usually named after the theme), and upload that via Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme.

Same cause, same fix. Extract the downloaded package, locate the correct plugin zip inside, and upload that via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Never upload the outer package directly to WordPress.

Themes are installed under Appearance → Themes. Plugins are installed under Plugins → Add New. Uploading a theme in the plugin section (or vice versa) will always fail with a confusing error message.

These themes follow a two-part installation process:

  1. Install the base theme via Appearance → Themes → Add New (upload the theme zip).
  2. Install the Pro plugin (e.g. Astra Pro, Kadence Pro) separately via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.

Both parts are required. The Pro features come from the companion plugin, not the theme zip alone.

Note: Some of these themes also include a “Starter Templates” plugin — only install it if you want to import demo content. It is not required for the theme to function.

Many premium themes and complex plugins require higher PHP limits than the default hosting configuration. Common settings to increase:

  • memory_limit — 512M or higher
  • max_execution_time — 300 or higher
  • max_input_time — 300 or higher
  • post_max_size — 256M or higher
  • upload_max_filesize — 256M or higher

You can adjust these via your hosting control panel, php.ini, or by adding them to your wp-config.php. Search for “[theme name] PHP requirements” for the specific values the developer recommends.

Warning: Very high max_execution_time values (600s+) during theme setup can place heavy load on your server. Lower them again after installation completes.

Work through these steps in order:

  1. Check your PHP version. Some plugins still require PHP 7.4 and do not yet fully support PHP 8.x. Check the plugin documentation for minimum version requirements.
  2. Enable WP_DEBUG to see the exact error. Add define('WP_DEBUG', true); to wp-config.php and reload — the message will tell you exactly what’s failing and where.
  3. Test for conflicts. Deactivate all other plugins and switch to a default WordPress theme. If the error disappears, reactivate plugins one by one to find the conflict.
  4. Test on a clean WordPress install. If the plugin works on a fresh WP with no other plugins, the issue is a conflict with your specific setup — not the plugin itself.
  5. Check the browser console (F12 → Console). Many visual issues are JavaScript conflicts between plugins, not PHP errors.

How to Install Elementor Template Kits

An Elementor Template Kit is a collection of pre-designed page templates (home, about, contact, blog, shop, etc.) that share a consistent visual style and can be imported into your WordPress site. They are distributed as a .zip file and are designed to work with Elementor Free or Pro.

Before importing: Review the kit’s requirements — some need Elementor Pro, WooCommerce, or specific third-party plugins to display correctly. Always check the product description first.

Each template kit includes specific import instructions and customization guides on the developer’s site. To access them, go to the product page on GPL Plugins Club where you downloaded the kit and click the DEVELOPER link — this takes you directly to the official page with the exact steps for that kit.

Every product on GPL Plugins Club has a DEVELOPER link on its product page. This link takes you directly to the original developer’s official page for that specific template kit — where you will find step-by-step import instructions, customization guides, demo previews, and a list of required plugins.

Since template kits vary significantly from one to another, the most reliable instructions are always the ones the developer provides for that particular kit. Use the DEVELOPER link as your primary reference whenever you’re working with a new template.

Where to find it: Go to the product page on gplplugins.club, scroll to the download area, and click the DEVELOPER button. It will open the official developer documentation in a new tab.

This is the most straightforward method for importing a kit you downloaded from GPL Plugins Club.

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New, search for “Template Kit – Import” (by Envato), install and activate it.
  2. Keep your downloaded kit as a .zip — do not unzip it.
  3. Go to Elements → Installed Kits and click Upload Template Kit.
  4. Select your kit zip and upload it.
  5. Click Install Requirements to automatically install any plugins the kit depends on.
  6. Import templates one at a time for best results — avoid importing all pages simultaneously.
Demo images: Some kits use licensed stock photos that are not included in the zip. You will need to replace them with your own images or license them from Envato Elements.

Elementor 3.7+ includes a built-in kit import tool — no third-party plugin required.

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Elementor → Tools → Import/Export Kit.
  2. Click Import and upload your kit .zip file.
  3. Review what the kit includes (templates, global styles, site settings) and select what you want to import.
  4. Click Import to apply. Elementor will notify you when complete.
  5. Imported templates appear under Templates → Saved Templates.
  6. Create a new page, open Elementor editor, click the folder icon → My Templates, and apply the imported template.
Tip: Set the page template to Elementor Full Width (gear icon at lower-left of the editor → Page Layout) and hide the page title for a clean full-screen result.

Some kits or standalone templates are distributed as individual .json files rather than a full kit zip.

  1. Go to Templates → Saved Templates.
  2. Click Import Templates (top right).
  3. Upload the .json file.
  4. The template will appear in your library and can be applied to any page via the Elementor editor → folder icon → My Templates.

This method is also useful if you only want to import specific pages from a kit rather than the entire package.

This is very common. The most frequent causes:

  • Missing required plugins. The kit may rely on Elementor Pro, WooCommerce, or specific widget plugins. Install all requirements listed in the product description.
  • Demo images not included. Stock photos used in demos are not bundled due to licensing. Replace them with your own images.
  • Global Kit Styles not imported first. If using the Template Kit Import plugin, import the Global Kit Styles before individual pages — these define typography, colors, and spacing for the entire kit.
  • Custom fonts not loading. Ensure Elementor’s Google Fonts setting is enabled under Elementor → Settings → Advanced.
Best resource: The official developer page for your specific kit has exact customization guidance. Find it by clicking the DEVELOPER link on the product page where you downloaded the kit.

General Questions

GPL Plugins Club is a digital platform providing a curated repository of premium WordPress and WooCommerce themes, plugins, and extensions under the GPL license. Our mission is to make high-quality tools accessible and affordable for developers, freelancers, and end users, while maintaining strict security and regular update practices.

All WordPress-related code (themes, plugins, extensions) is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). This means that once we acquire a product legally, we are entitled to redistribute it under GPL. Our affordable pricing comes from not offering technical support from the developers or automatic license-based updates.

We invest in maintaining an updated and secure repository, allowing you to download the same genuine products for a fraction of the original price.

Absolutely. All products listed on gplplugins.club are genuine and obtained directly from developers or trusted affiliate sources. We never distribute nulled, cracked, or unauthorized versions from unreliable sources. Our downloads are verified and unmodified unless explicitly stated (e.g. pre-activated versions prepared in-house when a license key is strictly required for core functionality).

All our items are sourced directly from original developers or trusted partners. We purchase official licenses and download the products ourselves. We do not rely on random third-party sources, ensuring that all files are clean, safe, and original.

Unlike illegal nulled sites, we distribute original files acquired directly from developers. Our files are clean, safe, and do not contain hidden malware, viruses, or malicious code. We also maintain an organized and frequently updated repository and encourage users to support developers by purchasing official licenses for production use.

Downloading free or illegally modified versions is a serious risk. Such files often contain malicious code, malware, or backdoors that can compromise your entire website and your visitors’ data. GPL Plugins Club ensures all downloads are original, clean, and safe — sourced directly from developers or trusted affiliates.

Security note: A single infected plugin can expose your full server, database, and user information. The cost of a membership is negligible compared to the cost of a compromised site.

Yes. All products distributed through gplplugins.club fall under the GNU General Public License (GPL), making it legal to download and use them for personal or commercial projects. However, you must comply with any proprietary licensing that might apply to specific assets (e.g. images, fonts, or third-party services bundled with some themes or plugins).

Under the GPL license, there are no per-site restrictions. You can use any plugin or theme you download on as many personal or client websites as you need — the GPL explicitly grants you this freedom. This is one of the key advantages of GPL-licensed software over proprietary alternatives that charge per domain.

Important distinction: While there are no site limits on usage, our membership grants access to our repository — it does not transfer developer licenses, official support, or automatic developer updates to any of those sites.

We want every member to have the right expectations from day one. Here is what a GPL Plugins Club membership gives you — and what it doesn’t:

What you get: Access to download a large repository of premium WordPress plugins and themes, kept updated regularly, at a fraction of the original price. Use them on unlimited sites. Keep what you download, even after your membership ends.

What is not included: Official developer licenses, developer technical support, or automatic updates from the developer’s servers. These remain tied to a direct purchase from the original developer.

GPL is a powerful open-source license that gives you genuine legal freedom to use and build with these tools. Understanding its scope and limitations before purchasing ensures you get exactly what you expect — and are never disappointed.

Our recommendation: If a specific plugin is central to your business and you need developer support or guaranteed automatic updates, consider purchasing a direct license from the developer. GPL Plugins Club is ideal for developers, agencies, and builders who work with many tools and value breadth of access over individual vendor support.

No. This is one of the most important things to understand about GPL software. Anything you downloaded during your active membership continues to work indefinitely after it expires — your sites will not break, and the software will not deactivate.

What you lose when a membership expires is access to new downloads and updates from our repository. The version you have keeps running perfectly on your sites.

In short: You are not renting the software. You are paying for access to download and receive updates. The software itself is yours to use under GPL, forever.

We provide general guidance and assistance for issues related to our website, downloads, and billing. However, we do not offer technical support for specific products because we are not the developers. For advanced customization, troubleshooting, or developer support, we recommend purchasing the product directly from the original developer or hiring a qualified freelancer.

No. We do not provide original license keys. While the GPL license allows usage without a license key, developers often require one for automatic updates or official support. If you need developer support or license-based auto-updates, you should purchase directly from the original developer.

Many plugins and themes prompt for a license key to enable automatic updates, support access, or premium templates. However, most products function fully without entering a license key. You can safely ignore these prompts for normal usage.

Tip: Plugins like Disable Admin Notices or WP Nag Hide can hide these reminders from your WordPress dashboard, keeping it clean and distraction-free.

Some plugins or themes require a license key to unlock full functionality. In these cases, our team may prepare a version that removes license checks so all features are accessible. We always disclose when a product has been modified this way, and the modifications are strictly limited to unlocking functionality — never to introduce malicious code.

Unfortunately, no. With hundreds of products in our library, we cannot make personalized recommendations. However, every product page includes a direct link to the original developer’s website where you can review demos, feature lists, and documentation to help you decide.

Products may be removed for several reasons, including:

  • Our subscription with the original developer expired.
  • The developer removed the product from their store (e.g. from Envato).
  • A valid DMCA takedown notice was received.

Once a product is removed, we may no longer be able to provide updates or new downloads for it.

💳

Memberships & Payments

No. You do not purchase the product itself. Instead, your membership grants you access to download items from our repository. Once downloaded, you are free to use the products under the GPL license even if your membership expires. However, ongoing downloads and access to updates require an active membership.

We accept secure payments via Stripe and PayPal. All transactions are encrypted and comply with PCI DSS standards for security.

Yes. Unless explicitly canceled, subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you selected during signup. You can cancel at any time through your account dashboard to avoid future charges. We recommend canceling at least 24 hours before your renewal date.

No. We do not provide refunds for users who forget to cancel before the renewal date. Once a payment is processed, download access remains active for the paid period and the service is considered delivered.

Yes. You may switch plans by contacting our support team. Depending on the situation, we may adjust your billing accordingly. Partial refunds for downgrades are not offered.

Due to the digital nature of our services, there is no trial or grace period. Once a membership payment is processed, downloads are immediately accessible — meaning the service is considered delivered and non-refundable.

Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are final once downloads have occurred. Refunds are not provided for:

  • Change of mind.
  • Accidental purchases.
  • Lack of technical skills to use the product.
  • Product incompatibility with your specific environment.
  • Failure to cancel a recurring subscription on time.

We understand the frustration. Our policy in this case:

  • If a product is non-functional, contact us. We’ll send a fresh copy or help troubleshoot.
  • If it still fails after that, we may consider a refund, provided the product has not been used in active projects.
  • If the product works but is incompatible with your specific environment, we cannot issue a refund — the product itself is not at fault.
📦

Downloads & Updates

Once logged into your account:

  • Active membership: Navigate to any product page and click the Download button. The download starts immediately.
  • Single item purchase: Go to your account dashboard → Downloads tab, where all purchased items are listed.

If you experience any issues, contact our support team and we’ll resolve it promptly.

We check for new releases every day and aim to update our repository within 24–72 hours after the official developer releases an update. We strive to keep all files as current as possible.

We generally maintain only the latest stable version in our repository. If you specifically need an older version, contact support and we’ll do our best to help. We cannot guarantee availability of all legacy versions.

Tip: If you need a specific older version for compatibility reasons, include the exact version number when contacting support.

First, try downloading the file again — interrupted connections are the most common cause. If the issue persists:

  • Clear your browser cache and try from a different browser.
  • Disable any browser extensions or download managers.
  • Try downloading on a different network (e.g. switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data or vice versa).

If none of the above work, contact our support team with the product name and we’ll send a verified copy directly.

Some themes and plugins prompt for a license key for updates, templates, or support access. This does not usually affect core functionality — you can safely ignore the notice. If the plugin stops working entirely without a license, contact us and we’ll attempt to provide a pre-activated version where legally permissible.

To manually update a plugin or theme:

  1. Back up your website and database first.
  2. Download the latest version from your GPL Plugins Club account.
  3. Via FTP or File Manager, delete the old plugin/theme folder inside wp-content/plugins/ or wp-content/themes/.
  4. Upload the new version to the same location.
  5. Go to your WordPress dashboard and confirm it’s active.
Easier option: The plugin Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades lets you upload a new zip directly from the WordPress admin, replacing the old version while keeping all settings intact — no FTP required.

If you discover that a product version is behind the latest release, you can find the REPORT option directly on the single item page — just click it and submit your report. We will update it within 24–48 hours if we have an active subscription for that item.

Refunds are not granted solely because a file is temporarily outdated, as we replace it quickly upon notification.

⚖️

Fair Use & Restrictions

Each membership plan has a specific daily download limit. These limits are designed to accommodate typical real-project usage by end users. We monitor download behavior to prevent abuse and ensure fair access for all members.

Daily limits are a maximum threshold, not a daily quota you’re expected to reach. Legitimate usage involves downloading tools you actually need for real projects — not bulk-downloading the entire catalog to stockpile or redistribute elsewhere.

Due to a history of abusive download behavior from a minority of users, we conduct periodic behavioral reviews of accounts that consistently maximize downloads without corresponding real-world usage patterns. Accounts identified during these reviews may have download access temporarily paused pending evaluation. We appreciate the understanding of the vast majority of members who use the service responsibly.

No. Download managers are strictly forbidden. They generate rapid simultaneous connections that overload our servers and disrupt service for other members. Accounts detected using download managers may be suspended without warning.

No. Your account is personal and non-transferable. Sharing login credentials, download links, or files with third parties violates our Terms of Service and may result in permanent suspension without refund.

No. Although the GPL license technically allows redistribution, our service is intended for end users building their own projects. Reselling our downloads or adding them to other membership or repository sites is prohibited under our Terms of Service and Fair Use Policy.

Accounts may be suspended for activities including but not limited to: excessive downloading without real usage, sharing files or login credentials, reselling downloaded items, or creating multiple accounts to circumvent download limits. These behaviors breach our Fair Use Policy and Terms of Service.

Technical & Security

We recommend the following server settings for smooth operation:

  • PHP 8.0 minimum (8.2+ recommended, 8.3 ideal)
  • MySQL 8.0+ or MariaDB 10.6+
  • Apache, NGINX, or OpenLiteSpeed
  • Memory Limit: minimum 512MB
  • Max Execution Time: 600
  • Max Input Vars: 5000
  • Post Max Size: 512M
  • Upload Max Filesize: 512M

You can verify your current server settings under WordPress admin → Tools → Site Health → Info → Server.

Yes — always. This applies to any plugin or theme, regardless of source. A staging environment is a copy of your live site where you can safely test changes without risk.

Best practice: Install the plugin on staging first. Run your site normally for a day or two. If everything works, then deploy to production. This simple step prevents the vast majority of site-breaking incidents.

Most quality hosting providers offer one-click staging environments. If yours doesn’t, plugins like WP Staging or Duplicator can create one for you.

This is known as the WordPress White Screen of Death (WSOD) and is almost always caused by a PHP error or memory exhaustion. Steps to recover:

  1. Access your site via FTP or File Manager and rename the plugin folder (e.g. plugin-nameplugin-name-disabled). This deactivates it without needing WP admin access.
  2. If you can’t identify the plugin, rename the entire wp-content/plugins/ folder to plugins-backup/ — WordPress will deactivate all plugins and you’ll regain access.
  3. Enable WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php (define('WP_DEBUG', true);) to see the actual error message.
  4. Increase your PHP memory limit by adding define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M'); to wp-config.php.
Reminder: This is exactly why testing on staging first is critical — a WSOD on your live site takes your business offline.

A plugin conflict happens when two plugins try to use the same functions, load conflicting JavaScript libraries, or register duplicate hooks. Symptoms include broken layouts, JavaScript errors in the browser console, or features suddenly stopping working after installing a new plugin.

To identify the conflicting plugin:

  1. Deactivate all plugins except the one you suspect.
  2. Reactivate them one by one, testing after each.
  3. The conflict appears when a specific combination breaks things.

The Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin (free, from WordPress.org) lets you do this in a safe mode without affecting your live visitors.

This error occurs when you upload the full product archive instead of the installable theme zip. The download from our site may contain multiple files — documentation, child theme, PSD files, etc. Unzip the main package, locate the folder labeled “theme” or the zip file named after the theme, and upload that one via WordPress.

If you edit a theme’s files directly, any update will overwrite your changes. Always use a child theme for customizations — a child theme inherits the parent theme’s functionality and style, but your custom code lives separately and survives updates safely.

Most premium themes include a child theme in the download package. If not, the free Child Theme Configurator plugin can generate one in minutes.

Rule of thumb: Never edit a parent theme directly. If you find yourself doing so, create a child theme first.

Yes. All downloads come from trusted, verified sources. We scan products before listing them and maintain strict sourcing standards. However, we always encourage members to run their own scans for additional peace of mind using tools like Wordfence, Sucuri SiteCheck, or VirusTotal.

False positives are common with WordPress plugins. Functions like eval() or base64_decode() are frequently flagged by antivirus engines but can be completely harmless in legitimate code. Some antivirus engines — particularly from certain regional vendors — are known to generate unnecessary alerts on standard PHP patterns.

Our files are safe. But scanning independently is always good practice, and we support that habit.

You can suppress admin notices about license activation using these free plugins:

  • Disable Admin Notices
  • WP Nag Hide

Both are available on WordPress.org and are widely used. They let you selectively hide or dismiss persistent admin notices without affecting plugin functionality.

The most reliable way is to check the plugin’s official page on the developer’s website or on WordPress.org (if it has a free version listed there). Look for the “Tested up to” field, which indicates the latest WordPress version the developer has verified the plugin against.

Keep in mind: “not tested with” does not always mean incompatible — it may simply mean the developer hasn’t updated that field yet. Testing on a staging environment remains the definitive way to confirm compatibility for your specific setup.

If you believe your account was flagged in error, use the Support option in the site header to reach us.

Absolutely. We comply fully with DMCA regulations. If you are a copyright owner and believe your product is listed improperly, please submit a DMCA notice via our contact form. We review all claims in good faith and remove content promptly when a claim is legitimate.

We link to original developers for transparency and to encourage users to purchase official licenses for production use when they need developer support or automatic updates. We support the GPL ecosystem while believing developers deserve recognition and support for their work.

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we investigate promptly. If the claim is legitimate, we remove the content and notify the submitting party. We also reserve the right to file counter-notices if we believe a takedown request is incorrect or submitted in bad faith.

Yes. GPL software can be legally used without a license key for core functionality. Some premium features — such as automatic developer updates or access to premium templates — may require a paid license from the original developer. Purchasing a license also supports the ongoing development of tools you rely on.
